Item No.    Description

A Preliminary Study of the Colonial Landowners of Orangeburgh Township, SC  1733-1749.  This book identifies 175 plats that were surveyed in Orangeburgh Township between 1733-1749.  (These plats are identified in the column Item No. on the list of Plats Mapped as "101".) Most of them are shown on 7 maps included in the book.  The names of the 166 landowners associated with these plats have been coordinated with other records of the period to more clearly identify the various families who first settled the area.  Because most of these early landowners were German-Swiss immigrants, the name variations have often been a source of confusion.  An appendix gives a theoretical partially reconstructed ship's passenger list for the first group of 250 German-Swiss who arrived in July 1735.  The book is 8 1/2 x 11", 61 pages, comb bound and is available for $20 plus $5 shipping and handling.

Orangeburgh Township Plats surveyed from 1733-1736.  This map is an enlarged version of one of the maps in the above book.  It shows the names and locations of the first 90 plats surveyed in the township.  (These plats are identified in the column Item No. on the list of Plats Mapped as "102".)  The map is 11 x 17" and is available for $3.  No shipping charge if sent with book.  Please include shipping and handling as explained in next item if not ordered with book.

Individual plat reports.  An individual report can be done on any plat shown on the list of Plats Mapped.  Please order by plat name, acreage and date.  These plat reports are 8 1/2 x 11" and are usually 3 pages depending on the amount of information on each plat.  The first page consists of a computer printout of the plat drawing with notations from the recorded copy of the plat.  The second page is a copy of the plat printed over a modern day base map to show a reasonable approximation of the plat's location.  The report will also include documentation and information on any transactions that have been located which involve the particular parcel of land represented by the plat.   Individual plat reports are $3 plus $1.50 for shipping and handling for one to three reports and/or maps ordered at the same time.  Shipping and handling is $3 for four to six reports and/or maps on one order.  No shipping on up to six plat reports if sent with book (Item No. 101).  Contact publisher for further quantity prices.

Landowner reports.  These reports give documented information on all of the known land transactions for an individual or several individuals.  Each report also includes several maps showing the locations of the landholdings, either individually and/or in various groupings of plats.  Landowner reports are $8 each plus $1.50 for shipping and handling and are now available for:

-1   John Jacob Stroman - This report details 4 parcels of land that Jacob was known to have owned.  One is in Amelia Township (not mapped) and three are in Orangeburgh Township (maps included).

-2   John Inabinet, immigrant, and his son, John - This report details transactions involving 9 tracts of land owned either by John Inabinet, immigrant from Switzerland, or his eldest son, John.

A Preliminary Study of the Colonial Landowners of Orangeburgh Township, SC 1750-1775.  This book identifies 194 plats that were surveyed in Orangeburgh Township between 1750-1775.  (These plats are identified in the Item No. column on the list of Plats Mapped as "105".)  Many of them are shown on 8 maps included in the book.  The names of 150 landowners associated with these plats have been coordinated with other records of the period to more clearly identify the various families who owned land in the township.  The plats in this volume are confined to the area of the township that was established in 1733 even though the township boundaries became less accurate and not as significant during the timeframe covered by this volume.  The book is 8 1/2 x 11", 63 pages, comb bound and is available for $20 plus $5 shipping and handling.

Custom work.  Any combination of plats listed on Plats Mapped is available for customizing into reports and maps.  An example would be a report on all of the plats issued to a particular family.  To discuss options, possibilities, prices contact publisher.
